Marmolada - Fine Art Photographic Print

This photograph taken in September 2015 shows the northern side of the Marmolada. Its glacier is the largest in the Dolomites but in the last five years (2019-2023) it has lost 70 hectares of surface area equal to 98 football fields. At this rate, by 2040 the glacier will no longer exist. A fundamental role of photography is testimony: in the environmental field it bears witness to climate change and the beauty of nature, raising awareness of human impact and encouraging the protection of ecosystems.

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER

I was born in 1972 and I live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites.
In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to remote Svalbard.
My grandfather of the same name was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina but it was my passion for the mountains that brought me to photography.
Since 2006 I have been working as a professional photographer, telling the unique beauty of these mountains through photography.
