This photograph portrays the north-west side of the Tofana di Rozes through a military post from the Great War. A contemporary shot, but like a diary page, it has the power to transport the viewer back in time. Despite everything, did the soldiers ever find the time and spirit to appreciate the beauty of the landscape that surrounded them?

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER
I was born in 1972 and I live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites.
In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to remote Svalbard.
My grandfather of the same name was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina but it was my passion for the mountains that brought me to photography.
Since 2006 I have been working as a professional photographer, telling the unique beauty of these mountains through photography.
